The State Signs a Major Contract for the Construction of the Storage Area in the Ämari Military Campus
The Estonian Centre for Defence Investment (ECDI) and Nordecon AS have signed a contract for the design and construction of the storage area of the Ämari military campus of the Defence Forces. The value of the contract is around €4.9 million including VAT and the works will be completed in spring 2025.
The ECDI is developing the infrastructure of the Defence Forces primarily with a view to the storage and warehousing of equipment. “ The Ämari Air Base is one of the fastest developing campuses in Estonia, where the volume of investments in the next few years will amount to approximately 130 million euros, and there are plans to renovate the runway and build new barracks, a canteen and several different shelters. We are pleased that the agreement signed with Nordecon is one step in the implementation of these investments,” said Liisi Hallikma, western portfolio manager of the ECDI.
The contract was concluded for the design and construction of the Ämari storage area. The estimated total gross area of the storage area is approximately 500 square metres, plus fencing, gates, utility networks, roads and other spaces.
“Defence infrastructure has its own specifics, which the builder must be able to take into account. Nordecon’s previous experience with similar projects will definitely be an advantage for this job as well,” said Gerd Müller, chairman of the management board of Nordecon AS.
The works will be completed in spring 2025.
